Tempered Laminated Safety Glass

Tempered laminated safety glass is a specialized type of safety glass that combines the features of both tempered glass and laminated glass. It is commonly used in architectural and automotive applications where safety, strength, and security are paramount.

Tempered Glass: Tempered glass is created through a process of controlled thermal treatment that involves heating the glass to a high temperature and then rapidly cooling it. This process enhances the glass's strength and impact resistance. Tempered glass, also known as toughened glass, is designed to break into small, relatively harmless fragments instead of large, sharp shards when shattered. This property makes it safer in case of breakage.

Laminated Glass: Laminated glass, as mentioned earlier, is made by bonding multiple layers of glass together using an interlayer, usually made of PVB or EVA. This interlayer holds the glass fragments together even after breaking, preventing them from separating and falling apart. This enhances safety by reducing the risk of injury from flying glass shards.

Combining Both: Tempered laminated safety glass combines the impact resistance and small fragment formation of tempered glass with the fragmentation retention of laminated glass. In this type of glass, two or more tempered glass layers are sandwiched around a PVB or EVA interlayer. This construction ensures that if the glass breaks, the interlayer holds the tempered glass fragments in place, offering an even higher level of safety.
