Benefits of Laminated Glass
Increased security: The strength of laminated glass make it almost impossible to break, so any unauthorised person would struggle to gain entry. Even if a break was to occur, the interlayers holdup the strength of the structure so that widening the gap is extremely difficult to do.
Reduced emissions: Low-emissivity glass can help to reduce heat gain from the sun, which allows air conditioning to be used less frequently and emissions to be reduced.
Reduced noise pollution: Installing a thick piece of laminated glass causes noise waves to become disrupted when they travel through the material, helping to reduce noise pollution.
Increased safety: As the glass doesn’t shatter when broken, there is a reduced risk of someone being cut or injured by shards of glass.
Protection from natural disasters: In the arrival of natural disasters or volatile weather, laminated glass will remain in its frame, reducing the risk of accidents and making a life-threatening situation slightly safer.
More design choice: Laminated glazing is available in many colours, tints or tones, and can be manufactured straight or curved for greater versatility in appearance.
Cutting the Glass: Sheets of glass are first cut to the desired size and shape.
Cleaning: The glass sheets are thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust, dirt, or contaminants that could affect the bonding process.
Preparation of Interlayer: The PVB or EVA interlayer material is cut to match the size of the glass sheets. Sometimes, colored or decorative interlayers are used for specific design purposes.
Assembly: The glass sheets and interlayer(s) are assembled together in a specific order. Typically, the interlayer is placed between two sheets of glass.
Heating and Pressing
The assembled layers are then placed into a specialized oven called an autoclave. The autoclave subjects the layers to heat and pressure, causing the interlayer to melt and bond with the glass. This process is called lamination.
Cooling
After lamination, the glass is cooled gradually to room temperature to stabilize the structure and ensure uniformity.
Trimming and Inspection
Once cooled, the laminated safety glass undergoes trimming to remove any excess interlayer material. It’s then thoroughly inspected for defects or imperfections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Laminated glass is shown as a combination of number which is easy to read. This combination of number is made of refers a is made up as follows:Thickness of the 1st piece of glass (in mm), thickness of the second piece of glass, number of interlayer coatings.
The most popular combination is 44.2.
For example, laminated glass combination of 44.2 means that this laminated glass is made up of two 4mm glass panes bonded by an interlayer of 0.76 mm (or 2 x 0.38 mm).
There are three different PVB layer types used in laminated glazing:
Standard interlayers,
Acoustic interlayers,
Stiff interlayers: Significantly stiffer, tougher and chemically more robust than traditional
PVBs and provides enhanced structural performance in many applications

Railings & Balustrades: Add depth and sophistication to hotel lobbies or office atria.
Modular Walls: Create a sense of openness and promote natural light throughout office spaces.
Partitions/Dividers: This shatter- and scratch-resistant material is ideal for high-traffic areas.
Office Furniture & Doors: Consider glass doors with accompanying furniture for an inclusive, contemporary feel.
Display Cases & Vitrines: Showcase products with elegance and style.
Shower Enclosures: Add decorative elements such as custom color-matching and back-painting.

While Laminated Glass offers enhanced strength, it has limitations in terms of adaptability after manufacturing. It cannot be cut or drilled, requiring precise pre-manufacturing measurements. Additionally, it can occasionally suffer from spontaneous breakage due to nickel sulfide inclusions.
Handling and Installation Tips: Proper handling and professional installation are key to mitigating these issues.
Limitations in Modifications: Planning and precision in design are essential due to its inability to be altered post-manufacturing.
Glass Packaging: We use A-frame racks or export-grade plywood crates for packaging, placing cork pads between each layer of glass to enhance stability and safety.
